How to change water cooler bottle without spilling?
Change water cooler bottle without spilling by following these steps:
- 1. Dry the top of the rim.
- 2. Take a piece of plastic wrap and stretch it along the top. Make sure it completely seals the mouth of the bottle.
- 3. Wrap the excess plastic wrap into the bottle neck threads/crevices with at least 2 turns.
- 4. Take a toothpick and puncture a tiny hole in the plastic wrap on top of bottle to relieve a little bit of the pressure the 5 gallons of water will supply.
- 5. Take the bottle and place it on top of the water cooler. If done correctly, you should have no water spills and the tab on the cooler will have punctured the plastic wrap allowing the water to flow into the cooler.

Who regulates bottled water?
The FDA (Food & Drug Administration) regulates bottled water while the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulates public water. The FDA protects consumers of bottled water via the FD&C Act (Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act), which makes manufacturers responsible for producing safe, wholesome, and truthfully labeled food products and subsequently ensures that the quality standards for bottled water are compatible with EPA standards for tap water. Each time the EPA establishes a new standard for a water contaminant, the FDA either adopts it for bottled water as well or marks the standard unnecessary for bottled water. Even so, standards for bottled water and tap water can differ. Take lead as an example. Because pipes can leach lead into water as it travels from the municipal water plant to residential homes, the EPA has set the limit for lead in tap water at 15 parts per billion (ppb) while the bottled water limit, for which lead pipes aren’t used, is set at 5 ppb. This is one of the many reasons why it is better to source bottled water or have a water treatment system installed in your residential home.
